It just scans the registry for viruses, where avg or norton for example scan the whole computer looking for viruses. Registry cleaner, is dangerous, as it will create a virus in your pc., so you have to buy their program. I did this free scan, and they took over my computer, until I would buy their product, but I had a computer tech. over to my house and he took care of the aggressive companys, that will do anything to get your business.

the registry is instructions it computer reads while booting in to windows, it tells windows what to do and how to do it... now if you have some programs on your computer that you have deleted the wrong way then it is still in the registry, there fore a registry cleaner looks at all the programs in the registry then check to see if they are where they ar supposed to be on your computer and if they are not then it deletes them from the registry
