I got a 98 V6 mustang for my B-Day and I'm thinking about droping a V8 in it after I get out of high school. So I would like to know how big of an engine will fit in it. Thanks.

ALLL of them can fit. the 4.6 is physically larger than any of the older pushrod V8's, that's right a 4.6 is bigger than a 460, Plus they make kits to brace the body in all the right places. You can order a 600 Cube crate motor from Ford.

Easily, the 5.4 triton truck motor (its just a bigger 4.6), since its still a derivative of the SN95 you might also be able to get an old school 351 or 400 small block in it, a triton V10 would probably fit if you moved it back a little and moved things around at the front of the car. As was said though, you're better off in the long run to sell it and get a V8 car, there's a LOT of differences (suspension, mounts, computer, wiring, etc). You can always get a V8 car and swap a 5.4 longblock in, or supercharge the 4.6.

It's not really worth the effort to swap the engine, better just to sell your and get another that is a V8. but a Mustang V8 would be your best bet. otherwise, other ford engines will probably match up with your tranny. Check with a ford or mustang group on yahoo.

you can easliy put a v8 in the car since the v6 has the same frame has the v8. i have seen some guys put a 350 in them, i would not go bigger than a 350 do to the other stuff that has to go in the egine compartment. also if you change the engine please replace the clutch, or gears, or even get a new transmission.

You can fit the 4.6L V-8 in there, as the bodys are all similar. But you'd need a new computer, harness and such for the V-8 swap. Good luck.

Save your money and buy a V-8 Stang after school. The swap will cost much more than it is worth. Much cheaper to trade cars.

351W.
A 302-V8 small block was an option for the Mustang.
Have to find a computer to run it.
