If Christians did as you suggest, they would have to give up hating gays and scientists and non-Christians. I think they are having too much fun to give up on all that.

Christ never taught that the O.T. was wrong, He quoted and even pointed to scriptures in the O.T. "...Moses said and eye for and eye and a tooth for a tooth...but I say "Love your enemies, do good to them that persecute you". When the woman was caught in the act of adultery, they brought the woman to Jesus to ask his opinion, to try and trick him as usual . Jesus never answered them, but said, if any of you (like yourself) do not have sin cast the first stone. 1) Jesus was saying all of you who accused her, need to die for your sinful act also and 2) Where is the man that was committing the sin with her, wasn't he caught in the act also. "Give your enemy no peace is wrong....." Again, you must love your enemy, do good to those who despitefully use you...." Matthew 11:13 Christ said all the prophets and the law of Moses looked forward to this present time and Luke 16:16 "The law of Moses and the messages of the prophets were guides....that doesn't mean that the law has lost it's force. It is easier for Heaven and earth to pass away than for a tilt of the law to fail. Luke 24:44 "......everything that is written about me in the law of Moses and the prophets and in the Psalms must be fulfilled." Christ came to give life and give it more abundantly, and He did only what the Father told Him to do. I would really love to discuss this with you in length but time and space doesn't permit me to. Love, be bless.

The trinity isn't a Catholic ingredient in any appreciate, it quite is a edge of purely approximately each and each Christian denomonation. Being 'born as quickly as greater' is a greater usual term among protestants. And purely a be conscious to the guy or woman who regarded the King James Bible, i'm now no longer specific wherein you have become your expertise from whether that variation is setting up much less and much less usual, lots churches on the 2d use the NIV, and as for swearing on it, no one will would desire to truly swear on a Bible pondering the incontrovertible fact that the Bible itself says to no longer swear on something, "enable your effective be effective and your no be no".

He contridicted their "traditions" not the laws God commanded. He perfectly kept the OT laws.
Every time He said, "but I say unto you..." He expouned upon the OT law. For instance, the OT said adultery was wrong, but He said not only is that wrong, but lusting in the heart was wrong. That isn't a reversal.
He did fulfill the OT law by being the ultimate sacrifice for sin. But Christ never said that the OT was wrong.
Eye for an eye is a limitatation on what someone can do to avenge a wrong. It was never a commandment in that one _had to require_ an eye for an eye.
As for divorce, He pointed out that "from the begining" God created one husband and one wife. He didn't reverse it. He reminded them of God's original intent.

I understand what you are saying and can not debate it. I would however like to bring to light that if you follow Jesus teaching then this is the crowning jewel of it.
Mat 22:36 Master, which [is] the great commandment in the law?
Mat 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
Mat 22:38 This is the first and great commandment.
Mat 22:39 And the second [is] like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
Mat 22:40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

I would like to know where you're getting your information. Christ didn't "destroy" any laws - the last words he uttered on the cross before dying were "it is finished" - meaning that the laws of the Old Covenant were now null and void and the New Covenant laws were to commence. That's it - his word was enough.

Jesus Christ came to fulfill the Law, not to abolish it.
The Law is perfect, but man sinful unable to keep it.
Through faith and trust in Jesus Christ and His life,
death and resurrection, we keep the Law now.

I don't think that the Old Testament is right in many respects. I think you are correct, Jesus had a very specific message about the OT. But, I'm a Gnostic Christian, and many Christians do not consider Gnostics to to be Christians. Go figure.

You are one hundred percent incorrect. Christ did not teach that the old testament was wrong. Instead, he taught that people had understood it wrongly.
People understood the law to show the way to God. Christ taught that the law was good in that it showed that man could not GET to God on his own. Only God could get to man and if man would simply trust God in Jesus Christ that God would indeed save him.

Jesus came to bring days of Grace and forgiveness. He came to teach it is better to have mercy than judgment. People that were going to cast stones at another still had sin in their life and heart. Jesus claim that man had no right to judge others without mercy because we all fall short and need mercy.
