No.
Some of the elements surrounding it and some of the theorys (nights templar, rose stone etc) are true, but the story line it's self is made up and facts a little distorted to fit that storyline.
Dan Brown has admitted this on several occassions during interviews.

tis loosely based on a book called holy blood, holy grail.
Which looks at the knights templar and their quest for knowledge. There may never be sufficent evidence to prove anything, either way. Obviously, anything to do with the possibility of Mary Magdelene (excuse spelling) will have been covered up by somebody along the line, religious or not.
You can search a lifetime for an answer to that question (as many do/have) but I doubt there'll ever be a concrete answer!
Obviously, the actual book is fictional, there wasn't an american teacher running around london with an albino monk!

Yes, despite the fact that for about two years now Dan Brown has been sighing and pointing to the inset page that clearly states the book to be a work of fiction, people like you know much better.
Considering your obviously superior intellect, that's the most likely answer, right? I mean, you could have spelled the title of the book correctly, for a start, you retard.

No it's not true but it has a few facts thrown in there but the story itself is made up and is based on conspiracies. Anyone can come up with theories. The book is sold as fiction on the shelves. It's a good read anyway.

Just a story with a few facts thrown in here and there to make it sound believable. The bit about the defamation of Mary Magdalene is true though, I would love to read her gospel.

No.
The author under oath said it was just made up...that is why it is sold in the fiction section.
