Is this a U.S question?

In the U.S there was a 1999 Ford Ranger with a 2.5 liter 4 cyl engine, which could safely tow an air mattress. LOL!
You'll find trailer towing info starting on page 123 of the owners manual (download here):

If your vehicle actually is an F150 (but you just got the engine wrong) you'll find trailer tow info starting on page 136 here:

If this is not a U.S. vehicle .....well I can't help you. {That is why I always request U.S. questions only in this catagory but I don't think Yahoo! realizes that there are differences between vehicles in other countries}

Check your owners manual.

Also make sure you have good shocks, springs, and your tires are capable of towing that weight. Many people swap truck tires but with different weight ratings.
