I have lived & worked in Turkey for many years & the great % of answers here are either guesses by people that don't know or have never been here or know it all expats that think they know it all. I think if you don't know the 100% correct answer then you could do some serious harm, cause people unnecessary grief & expenditure plus insult the Turkish people people. If you dont know the 100% correct answer then i think you should not answer.

ErAs, one eg is about how much is 5,000,000 Turkish worth. I knew the answer but checked with a Turkish bank here in Turkey. I gave 100% the correct answer but people are voting it as a bad answer. How can they do that? Plus theres some people saying its worth many thousands of pounds, well thats incorrect. The person who has this note probably now thinks there worth a few pounds. Im glad they enquired about just a 5,000,000 note & not a 20,000,000 Turkish lira note

Hey, mate. Don't take Y!A so seriously. This is "community" site and people are well meaning (most of the time). NOBODY ever claim to KNOW everything about every country. Poeple just want to help.

Sure, it might be annoying to see when people get it wrong, but generally, it is not a matter of life and death. People who want to travel to different country have to take their own responsibility as to what advice they took and what research they have done before they go there.

That is why people like you who DO know the correct answers is INVALUABLE to this community.

Cheers, mate! Keep up the good work.

You are completely correct and you have emailed me myself concerning an answer and i know the information i have given is correct of my knowledge not a made up load of crap, but i agree that some people may take answers very wrongly and people should know as i answer many pregnancy questions that this is the thought and opionion of the public and persons should always seek proffesional advice for the correct answers. These answers here are advice and opinion only and shouldnt be taken as definate.I have also lived in turkey for quite some time and live with a turkish family as they are my husbands family and friends who happens to be turkish. So my answers arent just a guess!

I agree what you are saying..I posted a question in this Turkey section, or rather questions, in one letter, and wow, I was very misunderstood(someone thought I was going to meet a Turkish man and move to turkey all in one day, another thought, (and she could be correct), that I may not know the man I am going to VISIT, not marry yet, after a 6 yr online relationship.. she seemed to think, that after 6 yrs, I would not know what he's like when he's stressed, mad, and stuff. well, if after 6 yrs of web cam, telephone, and the internet, I were to find a man totally different, I think I would be in shock.
The strange part was, the first guy who answered was a Turkish man! But both answers did NOT come close to answering my questions. Sad.

Not only here in Turkiye section. In many sections people give incorrect answers.
By the way, how realistic is that answer of yours. 5 Pound monthly food shopping????????????

Additional: Regarding the 5.000.000. The question s not clear. It seems like most of the people answered referring to New Turkish Lira. Nothing wrong with it. Six zeros make lots of difference.

ALSO another wrong informarion given by the asker ''the official average wage is 24 Pound/week'' INCORRECT
The official minimum wage is 250 Pound / month.

Who do you think you are ?.Reading this it appears you are extremely self opinionated and I would not trust your answers.I live in Turkey and try to help people who ask questions as do others sometimes peoples perceptions are different but I still respect their answers not reject them out of hand because they are not the same as my own.

I agree. I'm from a Turkish descent and I visit Turkey all the time. I always find that many of the answers on this link are always incorrect, and I really don't like that. If you don't know the answer, then just don't answer it.

would you give any example?

because there are many falsified questions and answers asked by racist people who are anti-turkish, i understand your question in this way.

also, getting correct and exact answers are dependent upon your questions, if you dont ask exactly what you are wondering, u cant get exact answers.

i see many nonsense and incomplete questions; such an example asked in Turkiye Travel Category;
