Any stupid answers will be ignored (something like thanks for the points or something reguarding my religion, You do not know my stance on religion, I am just asking a question.)

Most scholars believe that Job is actually the oldest book of the Bible.

However, you'll do just fine reading it from cover to cover.

A Bible commentary helps, too. I like Nelson's Illustrated Bible Commentary.

I'd also recommend you read the Dead Sea Scrolls and the gospels and other books that were left out when the canon was put together at the council of Nicea.

That's an interesting question that I never thought through. I think they are in chronological order, because Gensis talks about God creating heaven and Earth. The New Testament begins with the birth of Jesus and contains His teachings/preachings. When I went to Cathacism class, we studied the New Testament. There's some crazy stuff in the Old Testament--a lot of rules for living--cleanliness/hygiene, interpersonal relationships.

The books of the Bible are not in chronological order because it is very hard to date some of the manuscripts used and the people who Edited the Bible tried to put similar writings together. I don't know what chronological order the books would be placed into.. depends upon your version of the Bible a little too.

I don't know what type of Bible you have, but at the beginning of each book in my bible, it has a "approximate date" of when that book was written. You may want to get a bible like this so you can do it that way. Or you could get a bible reading schedule from a church or online somewhere that will tell you how you can read the bible through in one year.
Hope this helps you or hope you can find something else that works for you.
Have a good night

After Genesis chapter 7, I believe, you read the book of Job. Then back to Genesis. It may be after chapter 5 you read Job to stay in chronological order.

Just looked it up, it's Genesis 11:26 is where you start on Job, then back to Genesis.

I'll find my chronological order chart for the rest.

I know that Job is the oldest book of the Bible if that is what you are asking. As far as just the order that they are in, in the Bible they are not chronological.

I believe the books were placed in chronological order, so if you read the Bible from front to back you'll start at the beginning of time and finish at the end.

If you really want to read in order, try a Chronological Bible. That puts them more in perspective of when they happened....or will happen...
