No, it's here because of the *Big Bang* event, 13.7 bya. Life's arguably here because of an "accident", or at least we'll like never know the Origins of Life - it was too fragile and minute to survive the intervening tempestuous ~3.7 billion years.
But yuppers... we do indeed "eat sleep and die", and there's *no* purpose behind *that*; though you can make a purpose for yourself if you want.

I don't know about *accidentally*. I don't think anything was trying to prevent the universe from existing.
I do agree that there wasn't a specific reason why it exists, it just does.
