Jazzing up a good alfredo can be fun, but there's also nothing quite like the good old fashioned stuff! Here are some things i have done with some success in the past:
1. Add a tiny bit of yellow mustard to your alfredo sauce (the result is a bit of zing and an unusual flavor)
2. Add the sauce to your pasta, and put in a greased baking dish. Layer the pasta mixture with some bits of goat cheese and top with more pasta, bread crumbs, and dot with butter. Bake until bubbling.
3. Add some gorgonzola cheese to your sauce. Toss with pasta and add shredded parmesan
4. If you want to add some meat, try sauting up some pancetta, or even turkey kielbasa and add to the pasta before you add the sauce. Makes a slightly different dinner, but good anyway!
5. Chop up some sundried tomatos in oil, add with goat cheese and parmesan for an additional richness.

I always garnish mine with diced red peppers and add some chopped, toasted walnuts. Some fresh parsley (flat, Italian) adds to the contrast. Jack up the pepper and a pinch of garlic is always nice. Enjoy!

I like chicken and asparagus. Add a little fresh grated nutmeg to the alfredo. Yum...I'll be right over! One of my favorites!

I had the best alfredo in London at a great Italian restaurant, can't remember the name right now , but they had crumbly bacon in it, the best!
I always put little pieces of bacon in my alfredo now.

Toss in some pieces of proscuitto or crispy bacon! It changes your dish to Carbonara, but what the hell! It's delicious!
