Is anyone in your family smart enough to go to a doctor?
On second thought, forget I ever mentioned it.
Doctors are imaginary and/or possibly emissaries of Satan.

Right on!
There's no way the late Pope John Paul II could possibly be closer to God, or more deserving of his favor, than you are.
There's no way the late Pope would ever consider taking a moment to approach the very throne of God on your sick aunt's behalf.
There's no way that God would consent to listen to a mere Pope, the one he trusted with the leadership of his whole earthly church, over the prayer of one such as yourself.
There's no way that God would reject your personal interpretation of the Bible, in favor of the Church's official and absolutely authorative view of things.
Just get yourself a nice, thick, prayer rug.
You'll need it.

John Paul 2 is up for sainthood. As part of the process, he will need to perform some interventions in the form of miracles in order to be considered a saint. Or perhaps your mom, having seen him on the planet for 20 some years, feels him more attainable on the other side, than the Christ, or other saints that she never saw in her lifetime....as she saw him walking the planet in the flesh....I realize that you are apparently not too impressed with Catholicism, but for Catholics, it's perfectly acceptable to pray to a saint for intervention....
I am not making a statement of the "rightness" or "wrongness" of the mother's actions, only trying to come up with possible reasons why she is behaving that way.

You are right however, you have to remember that your Mom has not arrived to where you are in your faith. If she has been raised in the catholic church, then it will be difficult for her to abandon some of her beliefs, they become like a crutch. Many people resort to worshipping & praying to saints & the like because they don't feel they can trust in one God. Keep praying for her & just live out your life, walking in the ways that God teaches us in His word, the bible. Hopefully, she will come around...have faith & pray. ok?

Stick to your guns so to speak, but remember to treat her wisely and with love.
Pray for her and pray the God will enlighten her to the truth that you have found in the Bible by the Grace of God.
Remember that we all do not see and/or understand God's truth at the same time.

I truly doubt a catholic would get mad common stop messing around. Catholics pray to God through Jesus and know that's the only way to go, praying to JPii would be asking him to intercede which is the same thing your doing for your aunt..

You are right. Why on Earth would someone pray to a person instead of God? When you pray to a person, you're pretty much implying that that person is a god because only God has the power to answer prayers!
Keep believing that! :)

I hope John Paul II can hear and answer her prayer. It just shows how far away Catholicism is taking people from the Almighty God. Sad, very sad.

First of all, you both are wrong, Jesus is not God's son, he is God's prophet and only God sees and hears all and can help anyone he chooses, so you should only pray to God to help help your aunt..and good luck i hope your aunt fights it...and also the best thing to do for her now is to pray to God ans always stay around her give her many hugs, i heard that can acually help boost their energy is hugs...

you are absolutely right that we are to pray to God through Christ. Pray that your family will realize that, but do not condemn them for their belief even if it is not right because that is what they were raised to believe. Pray that they will learn the truth- God heals- and you can go directly to him- and God heals through doctors as well.

hello, yes, but listen when her mother is dying isn't it time to stop fighting about doctrines and start showing solidarity?
Even if she is mistaken? Mercy shouldn't be limited to those who hold the same doctrine as we do. In fact we're supposed to love even our enemies - even the catholics!
And isn't a death in the family a call for mercy?
