Noone N is right. While in deep water, the tsunami is too small to be noticed unless you are looking for it. The crew of the submarine will certainly hear the seismic event that caused it if they are not a great distance away.

I heard an underwater seismic event one time while on a nuclear sub in the western pacific. It was loud enough to be heard through the hull while we were traveling at high speed.

tsunamis while in the open ocean are measured in inches (or cm if you wish) not feet or meters. A submarine or surface ship would barely notice one as it passed by.

yes, it would be the same if it were a nuclear explosion under water, well you get somewhat of the same disturbance. yes, it can probably create waves and cause it to sink or go topsy turvy. subs are built to handle a lot of different things and you saw "posiedon" right? that was a damn boat. so if your in the water deep, it might be a little calmer with a vessel built for things like that.
