The most used ferry leaves from Civitavecchia at 7 pm and arrives to Palermo/Sicily at 8 am of the day after. It takes then 13 hours by boat. You have to add the trip from Rome to Civitavecchia. Distance is abt.70 Kms (45 miles) and it takes around 1 hour either by car or by train.
So in total it takes 14 hours.
