This question has been asked before, but some time ago, and things have not got any better have they ? I would be interested in your own personal opinion-well let`s face it-we can`t believe anything we read in the newspapers can we ? Do you think america will declare war on iran or strike them at some point in the near future ? I only want serious answers please - war is no laughing matter - i think we all saw that with what happened in iraq. It really worries me - i`m in the uk and tony blair seems to think he has to go along with whatever america decides, for some strange reason. What do you think ?

Just want to add-don`t you think iran are taking liberties & pushing their luck though with the capture of our naval officers? Like they are laughing in our faces ? I know this looks like i`m contradicting myself - but it`s almost like they`re saying "come on, what you gonna do about it ? " We most certainly do not want a repeat performance of what happened-and is still happening in iraq do we ? Also as some people mention - we are short on military aren`t we ? ( another reason for iran to take advantage...?) You can`t help wondering where it will end. I think it`s pretty obvious to anyone with half a brain another world war will mean the end for all of us. It`s like a fire being stoked up until it`s completely out of control.

Say if one of the more powerful countries stepped in - china / russia - and warned america or the uk off - where would that leave us now that we`ve lost so much military in the conflict in iraq ? Also bearing in mind that uk military figures have been cut down drastically -
( what was all that about anyway ? )

well, if you had known what has been happening in the world, you would have a better idea of what is happening and why tony blair is fillowing bush. he does it for a good reason too. first of all, the psycho leader of iran (whose name is inpronouncable) is trying to convince the world that the holocaust had never happened in order to take Israel and all its peopel. that is not fair- and you are a fool to just watch it happen. secondly- they are starting to develoup nuclear weapons and point them at us. same with china and russia and korea. and another thing- im sure you are aware hostage situation in iran. how they have captured british soldiers. first of all- i doubt that your soldiers were even in their territory- i think that they were just captured. and also, even though that it was "proven" that they were ur soldiers, iran thinks that we invaded them too. u see what they are trying to do. they are making up random lies to do what is in thier favor. they are almost trying to provoke a fight. in my opinion- we should striek iran. but good news for you buddy-bad news for the world if u think about it- bush's term ends in 2009 in january. there are 4 major new candidates for US presidency. Clinton- a communist woman- and obama- a terrorist sympathizer- are two of the main candidates. if they come into power- the world pretty much goes down the drain. bush plans to strike iran at anytime they cross the line. CLinton- plans to pretty much disable our military- meaning our power. and barrock wont do nothing to help you guys if you enter into a war becasue he likes terrorists and thinks that they are misunderstood. personally i think the only reason we have not had a terrorist attack scince 9-11 is becasue bush has been so agressive and increased our power.

I don't see it at this time, I don't think anyone is ready for "Another" war......Though having been 18 when Iran took over our embassy and holding our people for 400+ days I would have been more than happy to bomb them into glass, but it would'nt have worked then and won't work now.
Iran is testing it's muscle, Iraq that they had a 10 year war with is now a much lesser threat to them, Syria,Jordan & the Saudi's won't fight with Iran, so Iran has played their cards perfect to make them "The" power in the Middle East and it's only going to get more tense in the future.
The only thing the USA can do is block the flow of money from Iran and that's.......as always.....oil, but don't make Iran out to be innocent, they know public opinion would not be on the Western Leaders side and will play that for all it's worth

Only in Bush's dreams. If you recall a couple of years ago, Iran took AMERICAN prisoners and held them for over a year. We didn't attack then, why would we now? And considering that there are no military reserve ( not military in the reserve or guard, but a standing army waiting to be assigned) to fight another war, since the majority are already committed to Iraq, we couldn't do it. The only way for that to happen is to have every country get involved sending in troops, money and supplies, which WILL NEVER happen. The other option would be to Nuke the place, but that will never happen as well, since doing so will make all the middle east oil useless, and drive up the price of a barrel of oil to $100 a gallon. Would you be will to pay that much to drive your SUV around....say $150 a gallon? I think not.

This is a totally peronal view, agree if you like, disagree if you prefer. Americas government will only attack a country if there are political or economical gains to be had. Iraq has oil and their leader was anti west, makes sense to depose him and put someone in charge who likes you. If Iran has oil, minerals, future nuclear potential or a government who is anti west then you may as well start digging your desert boots out now, its going to happen sooner or later.
Before anyone calls me a tree hugger or a hippie commie, I was a proud british squaddie from the 80's & 90's, 7.62 calibre was king and we fought the right people for the right reasons.
As for Blair, that puppet has got a lot of blood on his hands

Plans for a strike against Iran are well advanced.........so we are led to believe.Mr Bush is part of the American generation that refuses to forgive Iran for the 1979-81 hostage crisis. He leaves office in January 2009 and has said repeatedly that he does not want a legacy in which Iran has achieved superpower status in the region and come close to acquiring a nuclear weapon capability. The logic of this is that if diplomatic efforts fail to persuade Iran to stop uranium enrichment then the only alternative left is to turn to the military.
The Bush administration have said they would not allow Iran nuclear weapons. That is either rubbish or they mean it as a clear code: we will do it if we have to. I would rather believe it is not hot air."

My personal opinion is this: I hope we do not make the first strike. I whole-heartedly believe that the Idiot - I mean, Iranian - president wants a war... wants a good excuse to nuke the U.S., as well as Israel. He has expressed a desire to do so, more than once.
My hope is that our "missile defense" system (if one actually exists outside of the Terminator movies) would be sophisticated enough to deflect such an attack from Iran.
And if Iran made the first strike, and IF we survived, then war with Iran would have to be inevitable.

If America (or Israel) thinks that Iran is close to developing nuclear weapons, then yes, I think steos will be take to prevent them from doing so.
Israel has developed a strategy of dropping "theatre" nuclear weapons on Irans underground nuclear facilities.
The problem is, you can't uninvent the nuclear bomb; given enough time, Iran will get it if they want it badly enough.

No, no Iran war. The reason is because we can't afford it. That's why many of us were against the war in Iraq. Unnecessary when there are countries that deserve to be destroyed.
