Is cinema popcorn better?

I think cinema popcorn is terrible. I like making my own popcorn at home and I'm not talking about mircrowave or air-popped popcorn.

Also, cinemas don't use real butter... just that nasty yellow oil.

At home I make good old fashioned oil-popped popcorn with real butter. It's so easy, I'm surprised that people don't do it more often.

1. In a tall pot heat 1/4 cup of oil (vegetable, corn, peanut or canola).
2. Drop in a kernel and when it pops add about 2 to 3 tablespoon so there's a single layer of kernels in the oil.
3. cover, shake and take off heat when the popping starts to subside.
4. Salt and butter.

They use more oil in making it than the average microwave popcorn does.
