there is a car can be made using a candle ,elastic band and a pin and use cardboard cut into circles to make wheel i=using cocktail stick to attach ,something like put a needle through the candle bringing the elastic band and put a match to twist the band ,unsure of set up will go searching for it ,but if anyone reading this knows what im on about post the instructions up.

not the one i was thinking off but uses elastic band to speed car use mousetrap as the body

A mousetrap has a strong spring that can hold a lot of energy. However it can only move through an arc of 180 degrees. So the challenge is to gear up that movement so that the half turn is several hundred turns of the wheel.

AHAHAHAHA I had to do this last year XDD

Get some wheels and put them on dowles on the car. Make sure they move really easilly so you might want to put some candle wax on the dowles.

take a piece of string, tie it to the end of a looonnng dowel and put the other end of the stick to the metal piece of the trap that snaps closed. then toe the end of the sting to the back wheel "axel". Twist the string around the back wheele, , pull back the metal snapper and letter rip!!!

ha, watch the A-Team - episode 4 - series one - 25 minutes in.
its a 6.7 litre mousetrap turbo diesel (with CD player and air con!!!)
