I am sorry for the abuse and difficulties you have had in your past. I am overjoyed that you have found out about God, and what He has done for you (created, given a way of salvation, etc.).
I cannot speak as to why you went through what you did. Part of any explanation will be "fate," or "destiny." Another part ~must~ be choices, due to our free will.
If you can write a book about your complete journey, you may help countless others to come to Christ. That would be wonderful.
Is that why you went through all you did? I don't know. Be careful, though, when you say that God put you through all of those things. Be careful what you assign to God.

I am not sure that God put you through those things. If we look at the book of Job in the bible we see that it was Satan who caused the hardship. We can't love God well without fully understanding about what his purpose is for humans and without fully understanding where Satan fits in with all of this.
On the other hand sometimes suffering can teach us things if we don't allow the bitterness and pain to blind us. It teaches us humility, compassion for others, how to give and how to be a more loving neighbor. I don't believe that we were meant to suffer, though.
Through your study about God and the bible you are aware that things will one day change when not one person on this earth will ever suffer again. (Daniel 2:44, Rev 21:3,) I do think that getting to know God changes your focus/priorities for the better, and you will get the answers you need too.

Destiny,
God was and is with you all along. I do think you should write your testimony as it would help so many other people. You forgot to mention how brave you are. You and a lot of others, have had a spiraling path, as we all know the bottom line. The first might be last as the last will be first. I am very taken by you. Thank you for your gleam of hope and your bright shining flash of the great Divine sparkle. You are something like a Super Being. I find a lot of these types on this site.
God bless us all...

First of all, i dont think God put you there. You made a choice to put your self in that situation. However, you can thank God that he guided you away from there, and has the compassion to forgive you and not hold your past against you. Alot of people take the other path when they are young, its just part of life's harsh lessons, but once you experience the bad you tend to do some soul searching as you mature and eventually figure out your life and what God has in store for you. Kudos to you for you have discovered the most important thing in your life that others never do their entire life.

God does not put us through these things, are choices do. We teach people how to treat us and then wounder how it all happened. I only know cause I have done it myself. I don't want to imply that you chose to be beaten or raped, only that you chose the behavior that sent a signal to someone else that they could get away with it. A friend of mine often replies "HELL NO" when asked. " Aren't you glad you have endured through so much? " and I think this is why, God will forgive but, the consequence is ours. Glorifies not the choices that caused the hardships but, the ones that delivered from them. A Daughter of God you where born, A Daughter of God let the world see.

God did not put you through those things. You put you through those things. God can use those things you went through to make you a better person. Pacific Garden Mission in Chicago would love to have your story. Find them on the web and let what happened to you bless the lives of other people who are going through those things now.

I praise you for finding yourself, and turning all your negatives into positives...b/c a lot of people would just give up on their life and assume that they will never amount to anything or no one will ever like them etc. therefore they just mope and become bums or get addictions etc. But you....you are one of the select few who despite every hurdle...you still managed to pull through and find good in yourself and your life. And you are here now :) That's great. I'm glad. You are a good person, no matter what other people might say just because of your past. Good for you :) I think its a great turn around for you.

I think people who go through hard times need to find something positive in their lives, and the most common of socially acceptable saviors is that of religious faith. It's in your face so much that it's hard to deny it's the first thing you think of. I think if written well enough, your book will sell to the masses, considering, the masses have a similiar faith. I personally would not because I'm atheist and could never grasp such a fairytale. I, however, do trust that you're trying to make a better life for yourself, and however this is done, is commendable. So you write that book, and good luck to you.
