my mom had put a restraining order on my x-boyfriend last year when i was 16 and he just turned 19. the judge had mentioned that he wasnt sure if i could change it when i turned 17 in october, and i was wondering if anyone knew if i could. im 17 1/2 now and he just had turned 20 a couple days ago. the restraining order is until july, however i would rather it be off. Im not sure if i can get if off now that i am older. There was no abuse or any reason for the restraining order besides my mothers grudge and jelousy towards him. Does anyone know if there's anything i can do?

You are still a minor. You mother must remove the restraining order.

Wait until you are 18 to date this guy. That solves the problem!

specific and the order could be valid until eventually you turn 18. At 18 the order does not drop at once except the courtroom order state it, if that have been the case you will possibly might desire to bypass to courtroom to get it dropped. So greater ideal shop a low profile until eventually you turn 18.

the best bet is to just wait it out. your boyfriend is only breaching the order if he is reported by somebody. so if you make it to july and not get caught you are home free. the key is not getting caught. if you get caught, he might be in some serious trouble. i would just tell him to lay low for a few months and keep things hush hush. july is only 3 months plust the rest of april away.

You won't be able to change any of that until your 18, or you talk your mother into dropping it.

july is not that far away. if you duke it out in court with your mom, it's going to take longer than that to resolve it. wait your turn.
