What´s the difference in each one in which one do you feel more comfortable, aren´t you afraid to fly in helicopter. I haven´t flew in helicopter I don´t know why but I think it´s very different from an airplane and I think I would get scared or panic with the heights or feel that the helicopter is going to fall why´s that ? do you feel that when you fly in a helicopter ?

Flying is flying

Helicopter are much safer if you have an engine failure. They only need a small area to autorotate to and set down. An airplane still needs some forward speed, so if trees, buildings, etc are in the way, you are goig to run into them.

Rotor baldes are very tough. It is very rare for a birdstrike to a rotor to bring a helicopter down. It will cause damage, but the pilot should still have enough control to land.

Helicopters have a very large stabilizing gyro in the form of the rotor. This large gyro significantly reduces the turbulance felt while in a helicopter whe compared to an airplane.

Statistically, you are more apt to be involved in a helicopter accident, but you are more likely to die in an airplane accident. Helicopters are also the only vehicle in history to save more lives than they have taken.

If you are going to fly in a helicopter, make sure you choose a safe and reputable company that has excellent maintenance practices.

The Helicopter is a little more stressful due to the vibrations causing fatigue. but on the other hand you have a better chance of surviving in a helicopter if you lose engine power because the helicopter can auto-rotate. meaning when you start to fall the blades will spin and right before you hit the ground, the pilot pulls collective and you stop and land near perfect ( depending on the pilot of course) ive been inside while this has been tested its scary but cool!

ive flown in planes a lot (and am flying them now) I've only gone in a helicopter about 3 times and ill tell you the first time I was really nervous, it feels very strange at the beginning but once you start flying it feels cool and i was no longer nervous.
Good Luck

Don't need to be afraind, because you can land both the helicopter and airplane if the engine dies. Not sure how helicopter works, but the wings of the airplane will hold it in air, if the proper glide speed is held.

Fling wings are VERY LOUD compared to fixed wing craft, and are not nearly as tolerant if in-flight damage happens, like a bird strike or something. Either way of flying is much safer than driving around on the streets!

Wings are what keep any aircraft from acting like a dropped brick, a chopper's wing is the big ole propeller on top, called a rotor.

The difference that I have noticed is a helicopter is able to move around quicker and that you feel turbulence more probably due to slower speeds and better maneuverability. You feel that you are the the mercy of the weather more in a helicopter, ie. wind, rain etc. I actually feel safer in a helicopter probably due to the slower speeds and increased maneuverability. When the weather is a little rough it feels like a roller coaster ride a little.

I've flown in both a helicopter and both small general aviation and medium-sized commercial airliners, and I didn't feel uncomfortable in any of them. Remember that modern helicopters are designed to be very safe, just like modern airplanes.

I've been flying literally all my life, fixed wing and rotary alike. I must say, I enjoy both equally. I like the rush from flying in a 500C with the doors off, and I REALLY like the rush from taking off in a G-2! I don't think I'm unbiased enough to give you the answer you're looking for.

Flying as a passenger, not much difference...

You'll SEE alot more in a helicopter, you normally fly LOWER, and the flights are shorter.

Over 4600 hours in the SH-60B and 422 in the S-3B.

Helicopters are very different. A lot more visibility, but also a lot more noise and vibration.

I prefer them over planes, but likely because I fly them more than planes
