The battery is most likely low with all that unuse. Jump it, drive around for an hour, and things should be fine.

Batteries go if they haven't been driven for a while. See if it will recharge, (jump start and drive it for 1/2 hour) and if it won't u will need a new battery. Most likely this is the problem. If not starter motor, plugs or wires. If u couldn't shift out of park did u have your foot on the brake? It could be a shift cable, hopefully not. It may have seized due to lack of use.
God Bless U,
Daniel

If the lights are dim and the starter either sounded "tired" or didn't do anything at all then it is probably just the battery. Try jump starting it off of a friend's car for free and see what happens.

I agree with everyone else the battery is dead. And the reason it wouldnt shift out of park is because the battery is dead and it needs that power to release the shifter lock. The needles should and will max out when the vehicle looses and regains power. Happened to me a few times.

I would do what the other people suggested and try and jump start your battery but since it has sat all winter a good thing to do would be to drain the antifreeze and then put in new antifreeze. Give it an oil change and change the spark plugs.

our truck sat all winter long and we went to move it a couple of days ago, and it was the the same thing. The battery had gone dead. Try some jumper cables and that will tell you if it is the battery.

Given that it sat all winter, and assuming knowone was smart enough to go start it every couple weeks, the battery is dead. Plus I wouldn't start it or drive it until the fuel tank is drained and new fuel put in due to stale fuel.
