Well, I could tell you about back in the good old days when I had kids, of course then there were the usual dinosaur races and wheel building to go to, but I can tell you what my three girls and daughter-inlaw have done ( I think you would like their ideas better!

Lavender bubble bath soothing and hot, along with a great big ice cream sundae and a 1/2 hour of peace and quite.

A trip to the beauty shop

Go get your nails done

Get a babysitter and go browsing or shopping and out to lunch (alone)

Take your kids an have an afternoon with your mom (and kid) friends and hear about their problems. You feel so much better to have your problems instead of theirs!

Get outside in the air, on the next nice day, pack a lunch take the kids and go to the park. They will get so much fresh air that they will go to bed early and mommy gets a double bonus! Some more time to herself...

Ask grandma or someone to take the kids for the afternoon, take a long hot bath and go to bed and sleep. Make pizza or sloppy joes for supper and your good to go for another 48 hours.

Get out of the house, even if you take the kids with you, sometimes cabin fever makes small things worse.

if you have a kids museum in your area, take the kids there, they have tons of things for them to do and mom gets a break.

Go to library time for kids at the local library, its more relaxing than you know, my daughter makes this aweekly event (for her sake, not the kids).

If all else fails, take two aspirn, put the kids in front of the tv with a good movie or cartoons and go sit in the back yard all by yourself!

I usually don't buy anything, although the occasional glass of wine goes a long way! I get a good book from the library or take a bubble bath. Sometimes, after my son goes to bed, I just sit on the front porch and unwind. (I can hear him, his room is at the front of the house.)

Buying chocolate seems to help, if I don't have to share it. My absolute favorite thing is to put my son in daycare for a couple of hours, take a book to a good restaraunt and eat in peace. Of course, I usually do the grocery shopping right after, but still...we all need a break sometimes.

I get a manicure and pedicure every two weeks from the money I save by not buying books from the bookstore, but checking them out from the library instead.

i found the most relaxing thing for me is to take a hot bubble bath and put some headphones on that way i dont have to hear anything that is going on outside the bathroom. just have to be careful not to get the headphones wet which isnt really that hard.

I only have one child. A 2 year old boy. Whenever I am stressed I like to buy him a new toy. Seeing him happy takes away my stress. I like to get pedicures for myself. They are so relaxing.

A good book, some lunch (so I don't have to cook or scrounge when I get home!) and a girls night when my husband comes home....dinner with friends or a pedicure.
