Will need major work done (possible implant or two) and do not have $$ (thanks to the ex). Am I screwed? This is my worst nightmare. Help!

Please understand that insurance would not cover implant services anyway. Implants are a real premium service. Everyone in the USA does not have the rite to have dental implants any more than everyone has the rite to drive a Rolls Royce.

Consider less expensive services. Implants are only one way to solve a problem.

Hmmm... get arrested and put into prison.. while in prison the state will do your dental for free...

Without dental insurance you will need to use the emergency room for temporary care until you can pay for a real dentist to fix the problem.

There are very affordable dental plans out there where you can save up to 80% off of the cost and they are very reasonable (11.95 a month) Check out this site

most dental schools have a free or very reduced rate clinic. you have to put up with dental students under the supervision of "attendings" though.

Most dentists will do work on a sliding scale for patients without insurance, or put you on a payment plan.

you can come to India - dental jobs are way cheaper - my sister had her enamel filled for $20 in an air-conditioned laboratory - most Western tourists flock to India for what is now commonly known as "dental tourism"
