Another Aside: We, the Pagans, the Atheists, and many others, show more cordiality and logic than most of the Christians who post here. In fact we are the ones who truly represent Religion & Spirituality and yet we do not demand that you leave this forum as some of your posters shamefully say to us. Your Rebe cannot be proud at what his followers have wrought.

I, personally, have 11 "you're going to Hell" answers or e-mails and five you don't belong on R&S go to mythology & Folklore.

Well said, Terry. They have no unity, and that's exactly what their christ preached. They can't agree amongst themselves, and yet we're supposed to believe they have the truth.
The most hateful and disrespectful attacks to those of us who are non-christian come from the christians. As a theist, I've never had an atheist or agnostic attack me in any way, shape or form. It's the christians who spread the most hate around here. And yet, they allegedly have the love of christ within them that they are supposed to be showing us.

I not being a christian. I am a pagan i can say the the root of the problem is the non acceptance that the faith/religion is something personal and its not something u can judge or be judged by it THAT IS DISCRIMINATION. i can say that i like when people act badly to me just because i am different. i don't ask any one to believe in what i believe, just leave me alone in my faith and don't try and change the way am.no one is superior or inferior everybody has the same rights and all deserve respect. no one is asking for perfect love and trust just for simple acceptance.respect show be both ways

i don't know about what other CHRISTians have said here but how are you any different by putting our religion down? I don't ask anyone to reapect my religion, just me. I realize that all people aren't the same and that we all think differently so that means that we won't all believe the same things. One thing i do believe is that all pepole were created for a reason, and that includes people from other religions! Christianity isn't a religion it is a relationship. We are none to judge and neither are you! If you are going to point out people disrespecting your religion and then turn around and do it back you aren't any better then them! turn the other cheek and let it go! Our God (and yes that is your God too) lovesus even though sometimes we make mistakes! There is no one who is perfect and we all have to understand that and understand that we are all one! we have to work together because we are one generation and it has been torn apart by strong willed religious leaders! Everyone cannot be right, but everyone is not wrong! please just think about what you say to CHRISTians in general. I think this question should have been put to someone specific and not to CHRISTians in a whole. Please understand where i am coming from. carefully.

It goes both ways. I have seen extremely negative answers from the non-Christian crowd here. And as for leaving - Christians are told to go to the mythology section at least once a day.
I wouldn't say logical either. You may think that non-Christian arguments are automatically more logical then Christian ones - but that doesn't make it true.
Yes there are Christians here who are nasty. But there are also Pagans, Athiests and other theists that are just as nasty, judgemental and patronizing.
There is nothing that says a Christian has to sit there and let their beliefs by bashed. Everyone likes to think that Christians just need to turn the other cheek. In reality - they have every right to stand up for themselves and for God. Period. You may not like it - but it is a right and a responsibility for them.

Warring between factions is not a Christian-only thing, my friend. Look at the sunnis and shiites (sp?) of the Muslim community. They have been warring for centuries!
As for respect and cordiality, I disagree. I have been told by Christians (or those who call themselves as such) that my Christian beliefs were good, were wrong, or were blasphemous. I have been told by Atheists and Pagans that my ideas were good, wrong, and/or horrible.
Respect is not limited to, nor restricted from, any group on here.

It's true that many Christians react as you said (but not only Christians), but you can't judge all of us just by looking at those who don't show understanding for others' beliefs. I am a Christian and I've never thought of disrespecting or blaming someone for believing in another God or for not believing. Neither did my friends. I believe that God is the same, no matter what name we give Him. All religions have things in common, and their differences don't make them better or worse.

i cant speak for all.. but its an opinion you are fostering that all people disrespect those of another religion. unless you are using it regarding others because that is what you do toward others.
but for most (i suppose you might have come across exceptions).. as i see it.. the word is disagree... not disrespect.
there is the ecumenical movement.. the catholics bringing those of different religions together in tolerance of the various faiths.
anyone having a bone to pick with someone else of a different faith is not uncommon, as you admit toward those different from you.
i have some differing views with those of my category of faith .. my own pastor. heck, i dont yet fully understand everything in the Bible.
not everyone agrees absolutely on everything. its foolish to entertain the idea that everyone would. such an idea borders on embracing robot mentality and giving up individuality.

First of all, I never expect the impossible from any atheist that being, of course, logic. Atheism and logic cannot,as evidenced from the willfully ignorant responses in here from the same, be mentioned in the same sentence without at least some of us getting mildly amused and push your buttons. You and the pagans show more logic? When??? I've been destroying your laughable attempts at both formal and informal logic since I've been in this forum. It's your constant illogical tripe and innuendos that get you and your pals into trouble. You thought it was going to be easy to come in here and do what you do(which is basically waste your time)and we were going to fall apart. When it didn't happen as you planned, we now get questions like yours. You fools still don't get that we believers validate and accept our belief by faith and not your false-god of science. We don't worship science. We embrace it and move on. Never make the fatally stupid comment that you and your new found allies, pagans, represent religion and spirituality. Thats like saying you expect me to believe you saw a monkey chase a lion up a coconut tree. I neither seek, nor desire your respect. You have shown yourselves to be completely and totally unworthy of mine in return. You and your entire idiotic rant are dismissed.

You should have been at the "March for Jesus" in our city a few years ago. There were folks there from many denominations and we had a blast. You see when mankind gets caught up in religious rules he will bicker, but when we enjoy our Saviour Jesus there is great peace and joy. That is why following Jesus is the best way.

Global Humanitarian Religious Peace Treaty
*****What the Treaty Says*****
Whereas I, as a citizen of the world being an equal member of the human race, am now on official member of the Global Humanitarian Religious Peace Treaty.
Whereas I sign and agree to honor all people with all religious preferences.
Whereas I promise to be tolerant of and compassionate towards any member of the human race who worships differently than I do.
Whereas I join forces with the rest of the human race to promote religious peace globally simply by speaking only peacefully about others and their religious preferences.
Whereas I understand that in order for the human race to survive, religious peace is mandatory.
Whereas on this day I promise to speak of religious peace when the subject arises to help others also come to view all of humanity’s rights to their own personal religious freedom.
Whereas as an Ambassador of Peace, I humbly allow tolerance to replace intolerance with respect to anyone’s religious preferences.
I am part of a far greater whole whose mission in part is to see to it that all people from all cultures and religions worldwide are entitled to live with religious peace and freedom.
I sign this Treaty with a pure heart on behalf of myself and the organization or area I represent.
This Global Humanitarian Religious Peace Treaty lays the foundation for world peace so there is never again killing in the name of any religion or deity.
I believe and support all people’s right to worship in their own way just as I ask all others to allow me to worship from my heart in my own way.
On this day, a new member of the human race is added to the peaceful works and efforts to ensure religious peace, freedom and tolerance exists for as long as life on earth exists.
