I made copies of everything that was mailed to me. I also called the long distance phone number on the letter and received a recording that basically said what the letter said. I figure for the sake of myself and others that I would let you know if I do in fact come to realize that this is a scam, I will be sure to TELL EVERYONE so they don't make the same mistake. They did make certain comments about how they would pay you and the specific tax forms they would give you that sounded quite legit. If it does what they said they would do, I will be sure to tell everyone that as well.

You would be doing a big service to describe what sort of transaction you were engaged in. Why did you send the money? What is it supposed to be used for? How were you contacted?

From what you give here, it sounds like it could be a lottery scam or some sort or a shipping scam of some sort. Basically, the lottery scam said you won money or a prize of some sort and that you needed to send them money to cover fees and taxes. A shipping scam says that you have unclaimed freight that has been forgotten about and was recently discovered and that if you pay the fees and penalties you can get the package sent to you (which they make seem worth a lot more than $150).

There have already been questions about them on Yahoo Answers.

From what I read on these, it sounds like a work at home scam. Remember, there are virtually no legitimate work at home offers out there. They are almost all scams.

i would contact the post office since mailing papers like this are a federal offense. also contact BBB where money was sent to in Florida.
what were they giving you for 150 dollars?

if you sent a check - maybe you can stop payment.
try calling them directly (no recording)

good luck
