It depends on the formality of a wedding. Formal weddings - absolutely not. Semi formal, I would think they'd have to be really dressy trousers, a little fanicer than business casual, meaning you wouldn't really wear something like them to work.
For a more casual wedding, business casual clothes may be okay, but I'd still feel underdressed. Jeans and shorts, unless it's a backyard BBQ, are never acceptable.

Personal opinion dresses and skirts are best but wouldn't say it wasn't alright to wear trousers. Much depends on the formality of the wedding. Even then there are some really lovely dress trousers around. Lot all depends on the person if someone has a disasterous figure often trousers make it look a thousand times worse. Often more types of skirts'dresses make better camouflage. Here the majority of weddings are quite formal and again a personal hate is mother of the bride/groom in trousers no matter how expensive they were.

Nothing at all wrong with pants at a wedding. I'm more of a dress/skirt girl in everyday life, but I've been to winter weddings & there is no way I'm wearing anything but pants in 30 degree weather. Wear whatever makes you happy!

Hi if you can wear what you want to a wedding aslong as its not black.lol. No if you want to wear trousers go ahead, I would be more confortable wearing trousers than a dress or skirt. Stick to what you are use to, There are some lovely trouser suits or tops and pants out there at the moment.

Definately OK to wear trousers, you might not want to wear ripped jeans (unless that is the theme for the wedding!) but trousers look smart especially if you are not comfortable wearing skirts.

Yes, it is absolutely appropriate (unless the bride and groom have requested that girls wear dresses, but I don't think anyone would ever do that) if it is smart and not sloppy looking then I would not have a worry about that.
