Even an idiot knows that if you spend more than you are making eventually you will go bankrupt. And that's exactly where these stupid rat-bastard politicians are taking the country.
You will lose all your money and the taxpayers will pay and pay forever, with most of it buying nothing except paying the interest on the national debt. In spite of all this, the goddammed politicians think it's OK to waste billions as though it is pocket change.
A billion here, a billion there, pretty soon you are talking about real money.

This month, the House of Representatives will debate the Democrats' 2008 proposed budget. If it is passed, this budget will impose the largest tax increase in history on American taxpayers -- totaling nearly $400 billion over five years. Families with children, low-income families, and small businesses all would be hit with hundreds if not thousands of dollars in increased taxes.

I think the war cost more than 500$. I think the actual cost is around $380 billion. But either way, this country will survive. We spent more on the Vietnam, Korean wars, and the cold war era and came out of that just fine. This won't be any different.

I cannot imagine what the cost was to New York (job-wise) and the cost of security, replacing the twin towers, the pentagon, all the airplanes and people that went down in ashes. hmmmmm. I'd rather be fighting overseas.

We will all pay for it. As will our children. And our grandchildren, and our great grandchildren. With interest. I'm not sure you've noticed, but this country is in debt already, and can't even pay its current bills.

The Internal Revenue Service---that, technically, is their job in a time of crisis---you know, being in a time of war. The president will implement "martial law" and we have to "share" resources.

The grotesque costs of this war is only one of the reasons why W. Bush is the worst president since Nixon.
