Haven't been watching NASCAR and was wondering how he's doing over in NASCAR. I liked him it is a shame he quit F1.
Thanks for the help :)

He's currently 16th in nascar nextel cup points, and 6th in the busch series. He's doing ok, but he's having a problem staying out of others way, he wrecked his teamate a couple of weeks ago in a Busch race and yesterday he wrecked Tony Raines. Hasn't really raced very clean so far, but he's doing ok points wise.

He's actually doing quite well although he will not be a threat to JR for most popular driver in the near future. He is farther along than most thought he would be at this early time in the season. Yes, he did bump a "teammate" at a road course in Mexico but Scott Pruett really should not have tried that hard to hold him off in the first place and Juan did have the inside position on him. I'm sure they probably won't have to worry about being teammates again as Ganassi just brought him in for the road course. Anyway, he is ahead (in the standings) of many established drivers so far including Kurt Busch, Newman, Biffle and Kahne. Juan just got an excelerated tutorial on short tracks with Bristol and Martinsville back to back and he struggled some. With the next race being in Texas I look for Montoya to get a top 10-15 finish and even climb up in the standings a little more. Don't be surprised if he wins a road course coming up or even an oval where they have a little more room to race.

For a rookie in a *fender* series, he has performed far above what can be expected. Considering every track he goes to is a new track, he has learned to race with what he is given. I can tell you this...He seems to be very happy with what he is doing right now and has made every indication that he loves racing NASCAR! Look for him to finish in the top 20 in points, maybe 14th or 15th if he continues to grasp each track like he has. I would say the 2nd half of the season would be your tell-tale sign of where he stands among the other Cup drivers. That is when he will be going back to tracks he has raced earlier in the season. Theres no doubt he will have a very competitive Nascar career, regardless of the what others might say. Look for him to win some races the next few years, make *the Chase* a few times and run upfront many times. When he learns to not use up his tires, early in a run, he will become even more competitive. Thats what a rookie learns, if he is going to make the next step to competing for wins weekly.

Juan Pablo Montoya needs to leave nascar. He is a rough driver. He has span at least 1 driver out in at least 3 of the races this year. He even took a shot at his teammate in a busch races and went on to win it. His teammate said he didnt need to spin me out he was much faster then me but couldnt wait into after the conor to pass me. I think Montoya wont have very much success in nascar. I know he is 16th in points right now but other teams are having problems right now. I think he will end up like 23 or 24 in driver points at the end of the season.

I watched Johnny Paul for years in the F1 series and said the whole time he belongs in NASCAR. Now he's showing the good 'ol boys the large attachments he has and why he needs fenders. can you say 'rookie of the year'?

See his website of NASCAR.COM for his stats... As far as personal opinion.. I'm glad he's in NASCAR and he has LOADS OF TALENT. He's made a few mistakes on the track, but he was only doing what he knows.. RACING. He will learn in time and become a NASCAR NEXTEL cup winner one day.

His biggest uphill climb will be the fans.Dale Sr. made a carreer out of punting people into the wall, rough driving.JPM is under the microscope because he came from open wheel, specifically F1.Nascar fans don't like "FERNERS".No matter what he does in NASCAR , he will NEVER be accepted.I compare his situation to a BIG LEAGUE BASEBALL player in the minor leagues. The AAA fans want to see him fail, they KNOW he has been "To the SHOW" and now here he sits , in the minors, with the rest of the guys struggling to make a name for himself. If his name was John Smith, from Alabama,he'd just be another rookie.Maybe he should get a few teeth pulled and have sex with his sister, then the BUBBA's would like him.

He's getting used to it, 90% of the tracks he hasn't ever raced at. With being 16th in points so far out of about 45-50 teams, i would think that was pretty good. I'd like to see him win, i think he really has natural talent. He's doing better than guys who have been in Nascar for years.

Lets list some big name racers he is ahead of in points...

Kurt Busch
Ryan Newman
Bobby Labonte
Ricky Rudd
Greg Biffle
Kasey Kahne

Personally I don't like him. He causes too many wrecks. I went to the Busch race in Bristol and when they did the driver intros he was booed, so I guess I'm not alone.
