Have you bought your ticket yet? If not, change your mind. Avoid NCL. It's horrible. I cruised one cruise with them and will never do so again. I was not on the Pearl and I've heard it is the nicest of their ships--the bowling alley may be nice. If you must do NCL or have already bought your tickets then yes the Pearl will be an ok ship. Check out reviews from people who have been on it.

NCL is the worst cruiseline out there. Freestyle dining means you have to wait for a table the same way you would at a restaurant, you don't have the same waiter each night so tips are split evenly --basically means they don't care what service they give you b/c it doesn't matter how hard they work--and you don't have the same people at your table each night so you don't get to meet people.
The food is the worst, the cabins are the smallest I have ever been in (and I had some tiny dorm rooms in college). The crew will actually rip the "midnight" buffet out of your hands while you are trying to get a piece. And this was before the line had even gone through one time! Everyone on my ship kept repeating to me over and over "don't judge all cruises by NCL" and one lady had been on over 15 cruises and she usually did RC or Carnival. She couldn't stop talking about how subpar NCL was compared to those. I took their advice and took cruises on Carnival and RC and am now a cruise addict. But I'll never spend the money on NCL again!

Not the Pearl. I have been on 12 cruises The last one on NCL Spirit. Had the most terrible experience and will NEVER cruise NCL again. So bad that they refunded all of my money plus some. Cruise lines almost NEVER refund any money. Yes it was that bad.
If you really want a good experience, I suggest Celebrity Millennium class. I've taken the Constellation twice. My second choice is Royal Caribbean.
