My Cousin is a drill instructor in the marine corps, and i have recently enlisted i am going to boot in june, and I was wondering if he could end up my Drill Instructor? He has been taunting me whenever I talk to him about how he is going to try to get me and that he will make those 13 weeks hell on earth. Could I end up with him? But the thing is that we are not biolgicly related he is my step cousin, (my step dad's sister's son.)

yes he could because he is not a blood relative, but the chance of you getting him is low.

Man I got some bad news for you bro...

Whether its your cousin or not chances are aint gonna like your Drill Instructors.

When you get out of MCRD and you have been in the FMF for a while its kinda cool to go back and ******** with them though.

I ran into a couple of my DI's after I had gotten back to the states and was in the hospital. They were actually really cool guys to hang out with.

But....I am quite sure that when you first meet them, and for the following 13 weeks you will not like them one bit.

Suck it up, they are trying to make you a better man, remember that

Welcome to the USMC

There's a possibility. It all depends when you end up going to Boot Camp and what training company is available. I've heard of a son running into his father in Boot Camp but where never in the same training company.

Are you going to Parris Island or San Diego? Is he at the same base?

don't worry its a drill instructors job to
help recruits succeed
and weed out those unfit for duty

never forget when they are in your face
that successful recruits are their job
and weeding out crazies is their job
just do it and don't crack.

There's a chance that he can't because of conflict of interest, since he's relative. They might be afraid of preferential treatment.

Not to worry. No matter how bad basic training is, it's nothing compared to Iraq.

You'll be WAY to busy to even care if he is or isn't, concentrate on learning your job.
