He judged us by the simple fact of Goodness...or trying to be a good person?? What if religion had nothing to do with it...as a matter of fact...those of us who could stand alone and still be good people got extra points and those who joined a religion got punished??? I ask because I always hear how those who believe will be saved...what if the opposite where true??? Those who questioned would be saved.
I mean we who have no religion and try to do Good..do it just because...we don't expect anything in return. We don't pray and ask God for anything..we just keep trying to do it on our own??
Just a question??? No offense ment.

Jay...I have a problem with that...I could be a saint..never do a bad thing..only self sacrificing things my whole life....and if I don't believe in Jesus...well too darn bad??? I have a very tough time believing any God would be like that.

While I don't believe in any god, a god who rewarded those who tried to do good as opposed to a god who rewarded those who read the right book, said the right words, and went to the right service at least makes a modicum of sense. If I was an omnipotent but loving being, that is certainly what I'd look for in those that I decided to reward.

Depends
I think most people are decent people. If you based it on some criteria, you'd have to figure out what threshold would be accepted. If the "better than average" crowd were accepted, then that would send a lot of good people to Hell. If you based it on some strict list, like the 10 commandments, then everybody who's human would go to Hell. If you based it on some guy playing scapegoat for you if you just feel sorry for him doing so, then anybody who's a Christian would be saved, no matter what kind of awful person they are.
In reality, there are no gods. We all just live this one life. Live it well. You'll only live on in other's memories, so make some good ones.

Hard to imagine having GOD in the picture, but belief in God was not a factor...especially since Jesus teaches that belief in God IS what saves.
For those who do good, that is wonderful. Let nothing I ever said, or will ever say, tarnish that you are doing good. Judgment, however, if the Christians are right, will be not just about the good that you do. It will have a prerequisite of "Do you believe in Jesus, God's only Son?"

The atheists wager
You should live your life and try to make the world a better place for your being in it, whether or not you believe in God. If there is no God, you have lost nothing and will be remembered fondly by those you left behind. If there is a benevolent God, he will judge you on your merits and not just on whether or not you believed in him.

ok your paragrapg was realy long but i noticed the end ......you should try to ask god; at least that is what i am told; it's odd though because we are able to do everything in our lifes so easily; jump in the car. drive through a restaurant drive through, use the phone; use the internet and watch tv; use a plain......people become more dependent on technology which i think is good but; thats also the trick; you shouldn't forget god even though it's easy to.

That's the basis for Judaism. Faith, although good, is not a requirement, but being a good person and trying to improve the world is most important. So really that's not much of a change from my perspective.

If I were GOD, as long you tried your best to live life, that is all that matters, religion is one of the ways to better yourself and it does not matter which one you follow, if I were GOD. For a god to be bias because you did not follow gods religion is not a god.
