According to the NT, Jesus's religion taught that healing can be done without medical treatment. Physician, heal thyself.

Christian Scientists believe that if God allowed you to become sick, then God will choose to heal you. If you die, it was God's will.
At least, that's how I understood it. However, in the case of a child the US courts will not allow a parent to deny treatment if the situation is critical.

Any foolish religion! Even those individuals that believe in homeopathic medicines, and staying away from standardized doctors and medicines, believe in a practice of medicine! I personally believe that one should find a good practicing homeopathic doctor and be treated for all aliments and illnesses the natural way!

Christian Scientists believe in faith healing. Their right to faith healing has been tested in the courts and some insurance companies will compensate the costs.

Dianne C and others: please consider yourself gently corrected. It is not Jehovah's Witnesses. Not only do we believe in and accept medical treatment, many Jehovah's Witnesses are doctors, surgeons, and nurses.

I am not sure about the "heal by themselves," but it is Jehovah's witnesses who adamantly refuse blood transfusions/products even in cases of life and death situations.

It is not JW. I have a close friend who is a Witness and does indeed use medical treatment.
They just won't use blood or blood products.
