In addition to creating headings, you can add text to the top of the page, say in rows A, B and C. Then go to Page Setup and select the Sheet Tab. In the Rows to repeat at the top: section enter A:C and those rows will appear at the top of every page on that worksheet. You can do the same with columns.

Here's what I do:

Create an Excel file with headings, then
in cell A1, click Windows, Freeze panes
click File, Page setup
click the Sheet tab
for "row to repeat at top" -- type $1:$1
then click o.k.

Now File, Save AS to "My blank Excel file" or "My Excel Template"

When you want to open a new file using that template, just open the template and File,Save AS - save it to a new name.

Your template remains unchanged and uou can reuse it ad infinitum.
