I've read recent answers to this question and simply want to know should I buy the upgrade or windows xp home. I'm operasting windows ME on my pc with no windows ME CD since I bought my pc at a second hand retailer.

You can buy the upgrade but if you ever have to reformat your computer and start from scratch again you would need to have the ME CD as well, since the upgrade would need to verify you have a previous version of windows.

If you do perform the upgrade, I recommend that you look up the convert command on MS's website to convert your drive from FAT32 to NTFS.

You can upgrade to XP without the ME CD.

no, You need to get the CD windows xp! How do you expect to upgrade xp without having xp?

Go to this link. Download the WindowsXP Advisor. It will examine your computer and tell you if you are able to run XP.
