Sorry, I thought the unit in its entirety was known as the RAF Regiment

The RAF has squadrons not regiments.

There is the RAF, and there is the RAF regiment.
(The first answer is wrong, though the regiment's sub-units ARE squadrons and flights, not companys and platoons)

I don't like doing it, but it's difficult to beat Wikipedia on this. (See URL below).

The RAF Regiment was first so named in 1942.
It is based at Honington, near Bury St Edmunds
and they have a small museum which might give you a feel for their past and present, if that is visitable.
The uniform is army-based khaki or camo rather than RAF blue, but with a blue beret.
