First off, women can preach in church, just ask my wife.
Second, the reason many churches are against women preaching because the scripture in 1 Corinthians 14:34 women should remain silent in the churches. They are not aloud to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says. The first churches were not the big buildings and pews that they are today. They were held in peoples houses, usually having a small number (10-30ish) of people there. The preacher usually acted more like a teacher and would frequently answer questions. So sometimes these things would be a bit chaotic. The women were supposed to be submissive to their husbands and let them do the talking to help prevent some of the chaos. Going back to Paul's original words (not our translations) he is referring to married women. He says nothing about women who are not married not being able to speak (or ask questions).
Further investigation of the bible proves that women were aloud to have positions of leadership, including married women. Judges 4:4 Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lappidoth was leading Israel at the time. So we see that Deborah was a married woman and it was not her husband that made the decisions. If you read the rest of the story you will find out the general Barak wouldnt even go into battle without Deborah. Why would God allow this woman to be in charge if He was against it?
I could point out other scriptures such as Galatians 3:28 There is neither....male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. But the main point is this, women are no different than men when it comes to preaching. God doesnt say women cant be in charge. The problem is that many men can not handle their wife being in charge. A man is expected to be the leader of his household and many can not function properly if their wife is in a position of leadership. There is a fine balance that must be held, but that would be a different question.
Ultimately the reason why women cant preach in church is that many denominations have traditions that men are the preachers and the ones that are in charge.

Because men like to hold tight to those out-dated, sexist words of Paul in the New Testament, who says that women are never allowed to teach over men and shouldn't even speak in church. In fact, Paul says (in 1 Corinthians, if I'm not mistaken) that if a woman doesn't understand something during service, she should never ask publicly ... but should go home and ask her husband to explain it to her! In fact, Paul says that it is a "shame" for a woman to speak in the church!
Strangely, Paul also says in the book of Galatians, chapter 3, vs 28: "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus."
One of the many biblical contradictions. I guess you get to pick and choose which book you want to believe.
Edit -- The quote about women not being allowed to teach over men is from 1 Timothy. Everything else is accurate.

Depends on the church.
There is a verses against women talking and teaching in church ( I think that was only because women didn't get an education back then).

It is the churches way of making sure that females are sub-serviant and looked upon as less than human so all they should do is cook, clean, and have babies. Also churches are afraid of women having any type of power.

They can in many. Paul didn't like it, but Jesus allowed it. Priscilla and Aquila preached and One was a woman in Jesus time.

Who says they can't. There is nothing that says a woman can't bring the word. I have quite a few female preachers, and have been blessed by female Bishops.

Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law. - 1 Corinthians 14
because the bible instructs women not to.

Abrahamic religions tend to be misogynistic; many Protestant denominations have left those archaic, sexist traditions behind, while others perpetuate them.
