No.

Lent starts on Ash Wednesday, lasts 40 days not counting Sundays and ends on Holy Saturday, the day before Easter.

In 2007, Ash Wednesday will fall on February 21 and Easter on April 8.

February
.S..M..T..W..T..F...S
..............21 22 23 24 = 4 days.
25 26 27 28 01 02 03 = 6 days, 10 days total.
04 05 06 07 08 09 10 = 6 days, 16 days total.
11 12 13 14 15 16 17 = 6 days, 22 days total.
18 19 20 21 22 23 24 = 6 days, 28 days total.
25 26 27 28 29 30 31 = 6 days, 34 days total.
01 02 03 04 05 06 07 = 6 days, 40 days total.
08 Easter

With love in Christ.

no Lent is not over until Easter. . . in the liturigical calendar Sundays are not counted as part of the 40 since every Sunday is considered a feast day. It is 40 days of Monday, tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

Sundays are always feast days, even during Lent, so you've got a few days left. Note that this does mean that if you give up anything for Lent you don't have to give it up on Sundays. Something that catholic parents tend not to emphasize with all those kids who gave up TV or XBox.

Of course, if you think about it, it makes no sense. Lent is supposed to commemorate the 40 days in the wilderness that Jesus spent and nowhere in the bible does it mention him teleporting back to his local pub on Sundays. Just another christian conundrum.

No, Sundays do not count. We can still celebrate on the 7th day. EVERY SUNDAY is Sabbat whether Lent or Advent season.

Lent does not end until Easter Vigil is over on Saturday, whenever your church ends it.

We don't count Sundays.
