Why don't you believe in God? I asked why Christians do believe and i ask that all christians please stay out of THIS answer also. But of course im sure theyll be those (just like the atheists on my other question) christians who just HAVE to say something. Please try to refrain and leave the answering to the atheists who i'd ACTUALLY like to hear from...

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. YOU are evidence that there is a God. If lack of evidence is all there is to it, then there are so many concepts that shouldnt even exsist. Please explain...

Excellent answer yogi...
But my real thing is this...
You cant prove love exsist except that you feel it. You cant prove hate exsists except that you feel it. You cant prove time exsists except that you feel it. You cant prove pain exsists except that you feel it. God is something that cant be proven by sight (to most anyway), but by how you feel. To get even deeper. The human body itself is mechanical. Anything that runs in a mechanical fashoin was created by an intelligent design. The question is then, what was the intelligent designer?? Or who?? Did it just come out of nothing?? That big explosion?? What caused the big explosion quote unquote?? If there was nothing there to cause it, how can it be caused?? There had to have been something and i want to know what atheists think that something was. Or does the answer "It just happened work for you?? I can accept that...

Actually, religious people & atheists are more alike than you think. Both have big ego to claim to know the answer to question of existance of God. The common thread between them is theology (reasoned discourse concerning religion and God).
Just like concept of "Love" is not Love. Concept of 'God" is not "God". "Menu" is not "Food". Both Religious people & atheists are eating "Menus" & debating on "Food". Only people who can claim to know the answer are the people who have tasted the "Food". But they can't tell us how food tastes like because we have only known "Menus".
Both have not dropped their "Ego" that's why they are reluctant to say that "I don't know the answer". All of these people are not "Egoistic", some are just "Dilusional" because of centuries of brainwashing.

Other than the bible where is the proof? The biggest argument I've heard from Christians for the existence has been on the basis of Creation. How the odds of the universe just creating from seemingly nothingness is too outstanding to not have been done by God. However think about reproduction and its the same scenario that happens every day. Without gods interjection.

Thank you for asking.
It's all very simple really-no proof. I'm the type who needs to see in order to believe. There's fossil evidence to back up evolution, but absolutely no credible evidence to support creation or the existence of God.
Without such evidence, I'm just not able to go on blind faith alone. And then we have the question of "Which God?" Who's right? The Christians? The Muslims? The Greeks and Romans?
No body knows.

As a consequence of the Church-Turing Thesis, free will is a literal impossibility in the universe in which we find ourselves.
All of the theistic takes on a deity require free will, or the deity cannot hold us accountable.
Thus, theism is ruled out.
This leaves deism and atheism. Deism offers nothing over atheism, but yet accepts an a priori agent that atheism does not. Whip out occam's razor and atheism's all that's left.

There is no evidence a god exist, hence no logical reason to believe one does.
Religious faith is believing in something for which their is no evidence. Religious faith is a cop out and a slap in the face of all humanity.

"YOU are evidence that there is a God".
No, actually, I'm not. We are the products of an egg and sperm coming together...that's it. I apologize if that takes all of the romance out of it, but human beings are the result of science, and not God or religion.
If you choose to believe in your god (or any god), that is your right and I respect that. I have seen nothing that ever proved his existance to me so I choose not to - I wish believers could respect that in return.

No evidence, contradictions galore in your "holy" book, contradictions in the descriptions of this alleged God. Free will with predestination and an omniscient being... I could go on and on.
Instead, I make a correction: its "I'm sure there'll be..." as in "there will be". Youre welcome.
*EDIT* We are not evidence of God. We are evidence of evolutionary responses to outside stimulus. Are your teeth proof of the Tooth Fairy?

The absence of evidence favoring god, and the abundance of evidence against god. Do a search on why God wont heal amputees, and that'll explain why I don't believe.

I've never seen proof that God exists. If he does and he's as all-powerful as everyone says he is, then it shouldn't take much effort for him to prove it to my satisfaction. All he has to do is appear before me and whisk me away to the Eiffel Tower for 30 seconds. If he does that, then I'll worship him for the rest of my life. Since no one in here has prayed hard enough for that to happen, then I will assume that he doesn't exist.

The evidence is, as yet, not compelling enough to insinuate the existence of a god or gods. Beyond that, it CERTAINLY isn't compelling enough to show that such a god would be the Christian God.
