which software is better for making graphical effects for a picture, adobe photoshop or corel paint shop?? thanks

We have both, and have used PSP for many years now. PaintShopPro can pull its own weight very admirably. But we just got Photoshop CS2 and it is very surprising what it can do: vast improvement! (You would expect it at its very very very hefty price.) So if you're willing to go the money, I'd say Photoshop.

I believe Corel is less expensive, but Adobe has much more features.

It could be preference, but I don't think anything beats Photoshop. I think it's a more popular software with employers, and definitely integrates well with QuarkXpress, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, etc.

Depends on your point of view, Photoshop has alot more options but it isnt easy to learn.
