Okay, so my husband's name is:
Hoyt Ewin Harbin IV
His great gfather went by "Chip"
His gfather went by "Buddy"
His dad goes by "Hoyt" (the first one to actually USE the name)
And my husband goes by "Win" (the dropped the "E" in the middle name)
SO, we don't know what to call the 5th.... we want a good strong, but short name.. and we thought that it would be cute to make it start with a "V" (since its the Roman numeral for 5). BUT we don't know many short, one-syllable strong names that start with "V". *He is not crazy about "Van" (I love it, though).
Does anyone have any suggestions?
We were also thinking about just calling him "V." Is that stupid??? Or maybe "Vee" ??? I don't know... we're SOO stuck.
Any advice out there???
Thanks,
Natalie
PS
our (unborn) girl's name is Nora Grace (my family), by the way.... it makes it hard to find something that goes with that name PLUS makes sense for the legacy name... :(
Thanks for any help!!!!

I was going to suggest Hef or Quinn which already were suggested. Great minds think alike I guess. :)
Nora and Quinn sounds beautiful together.
I also love the nickname Guy. I think it is so cute. I think that nickname Bo is cute too. I love Beau but as a nn the spelling Bo makes more sense.
Good Luck. SD

I think that the name can be V (just V, nothing after it) I know you husbamd doesn't like the name "Van" but it would be a good choice.
Another choice would be picking a name that means something different, like Chip and Buddy. My parents call me "Sunny", even though my name is Sarah.
Just wait until he is born then come up with a nickname that fits him.
Good Luck!

Vin, but he might end up being called Vinnie, which he will hate. Wynn... or V-Win or for a baby and short term WynVee or Win V. Nora Grace is beautiful. Norrie or Gracie both work, but the name is great on it's own.

I like V, but what about Vin instead of Van? But I also liked the suggestion of using Chip or Buddy if they are no longer with us. But you could call him Bud or JR or junior.

How about Heff?
Phoenetically, it's his initials, HEH F(ifth).
Nah, I like the previous suggestions better...Quinn or Vin.
If hubby doesn't like Van, maybe he'll like Vance?

I like "V," but why not Chip or Buddy, like his grandfather or great-grandfather? I think those are good, but of course they would only work if they are not around anymore.

Quinn (He's the fifth, it's short for Quinten (sp?) meaning, literally, 5th.
