Most people do. The body diverts blood flow to the bowel and generally pumps in lots of enzymes and puts lots of effort into arranging digestion. Quite a lot of its resources are devoted to this, blood is even diverted away from the heart. It is why you should not try and do anything strenuous after a heavy meal.

Hi, I am now a diabetic and frequently this can be caused by too much sugar in the blood.
However, This may also be due to GM maize. You dont eat maize, agh but you do, in mayonnaise, gravy, sauces, some cheap bread and so on. I have been now diagnosed as being GM modified maize intolerant and the doctor in the Rennes Hospital who is a Proffessor was quite worried as this intolerance is a growing menace.
Try and avoid these foods for a couple of weeks and see if it improves. Its blxxdy hard though, many takeaways, the oil in a cheap chippy, the additive in some cheap chocolate bars.
Normal symptoms:- about 20 mins after eating a heavy urge to sleep, out for about 2 or 3 hours depending on intake and "coming round" slowly like coming out of a fog and a feeling of despair for several hours and a total lack of energy.
No food retailers that are LIKELY to use this product respond, but not all modified maize starch is affected but it normally is. It is a cheap sugar, and only used in cheap foods.

you feel tired because a lot of the blood from your muscles is redirected to the digestive system so you need to rest after a large meal.
So because your blood is redirected you feel more tired so 'force' you to rest so that you don't overexert yourself and digestion can take place naturally.
