I was on Zoloft for a while after the birth of my 2nd baby. It helped me right away. I didn't feel like it gave me a mask of happiness it just seemed to help level things off for me. Also, when I decided to come off of it, I had no problems.

One of my girlfriends is still on it and swears by it. I can tell that it has helped her out so much w/ her depression.

I hope it works well for you. :)

I've been taking Z since December and I haven't had any problems. I've even forgotten to take it a few times and never experienced any withdrawal symptoms like I have when I forgot to take my Effexor or Wellbutrin. Zoloft worked okay for my depression but did well on the anxiety. I was taking 150mg but I didn't notice a difference between 100 & 150 so I bumped myself down to 100. For depression, I'd rate it a B, and for anxiety I'd give it an A-. Of course, anti-depressants work differently for everyone so you just have to take it and see if it works for you. If you don't see a difference within 2-3 weeks, it may mean you need to up your dosage. I didn't notice a difference w/ the Wellbutrin until I was taking 300mg, up from 150.

Hope that helps.

I was on it about 5 or 6 years ago and I took it for over a year and a half. It did very little for me BUT that does NOT mean it won't work for you. I started on a low dose but over time, I got up to 200mgs/day. It very slightly put me in a better mood but I still had terrible 'episodes' where I wanted to kill myself, I was still violent, I threw fits of rage and had loads of anxiety. Basically, I still had the problems I had before but on my 'good days' I felt a tiny bit less depressed but I still had major depression in general. Zoloft did nothing for my anxiety which was one of the things that made my life a living hell. I also lost most of my sex drive and having an orgasm was near impossible and very annoying. I got off of it and just dealt with life without meds for a few years up until about 4 months ago.

Now I'm taking Lexapro (30mgs) which is working 10 times better. I also take Klonopin for my panic attacks/anxiety. This is probably the best I've felt in 15 years but, honestly, I still know I'm depressed. I was just so used to feeling terrible that I've forgotten what happiness is and I feel great because I'm no longer thinking of suicide everyday.

*I saw someone else 'graded it' so I will too. I give it a C- for my depression and a D- for my anxiety.

i've got been taking zoloft without edge outcomes.... can no longer say that is had lots of a superb consequence the two nevertheless. The familiar practitioner stated that at approximately 200mg/day is once you start to get the edge outcomes. once you're on a decrease dosage that is going to be ok.

I couldn't cry, laugh...it numbed ALL emotions and I made several family members mad at me without even knowing it...someone else on Zololf said to be careful about the numbing, mentioned to my sister and that's when she unloaded on me about how I'd been being... lol

Hated it. And the other antidepressants I was on after it. Finally went to an herbal antidepressant and had NO side effects (rock on!) and then...I got REALLY smart and decided...If I FIX what is causing the depression in the first place it will all go away. :) Correcting my severe hormone imbalance right now...and expect to be off the herbal antidepressant in the next month or so.

GOOD LUCK!!! :)

Very gentle on the body. Takes a while to go to work, and is easy to get off when the time comes.

Good luck!
