I am looking to be recuited to DEA; however, i am not sure on the "one internal and three external ways one can get recruited for"?


What are some advantages and disadvantages of each recruiting method for it?

Below are the basic prerequisites for DEA employement.

Bachelor's degree with a 2.95 GPA or higher in any one of the following disciplines:

Criminal Justice
Police Science
Finance
Economics
Accounting
Computer Sciences/Information Systems
Telecommunications/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
Any of the following foreign languages (note: fluency will be verified)
Spanish
Russian
Hebrew
Arabic
Dialects of Nigerian Languages
Chinese
OR

Bachelor's degree (with no minimum GPA required) and three or more years conducting the full range of law enforcement duties;

OR

Bachelor's degree (with no minimum GPA required) and three years or more substantive work experience and Special Skills, such as Pilot/Maritime, Accounting, or Foreign Language fluency (fluency subject to verification);

OR

Master's or Law degree plus one year of substantive administrative experience.

ADDITIONAL CRITERIA

Are you a U.S. Citizen?

Are you at least 21 years of age and will you not be older than 36 at time of appointment?

Do you have a valid driver's license?

Are you in excellent physical condition?

Do you have uncorrected vision of not less than 20/200 in both eyes, and corrected to 20/20 in one eye and 20/40 in the other eye?

Are you willing to relocate anywhere in the United States?

Are you able to successfully complete a background investigation and obtain a Top Secret clearance?
