Uno Chicago Grill is really good. If you like philly cheese steak sandwiches they have a good one. then they have good pizza's.
And Gringo's is good but not very cheap. They have good Margarita's.
Old town: Old Mexican Cafe. Really good homemade tortillas and cheap margaritas they are HUGE.

my favorite restaurant in SD is Azul. it's on Prospect in La Jolla-- it's a little expensive, but it overlooks the ocean and is beautiful. Go at 5:30 when they open so that you are sure to get a window table and see the sun set.
Hash House a go go in hillcrest has amazing breakfast-- its sooo much food for pretty reasonable, just be careful on the weekends because the wait can be up to 2 hours.
Other favorites: Confidential in downtown is incredibly hip, fresh and brockton villa in la jolla are both amazing, cafe Chloe is great for tapas in the afternoon, the fish market is really good, cafe panini is good for lunch, the cottage is great for breakfast and lunch, Jacks is a great place to go after dinner, and the outside top of Georges on the Cove is gorgeous.
Oh! and do NOT miss Extraordinary Desserts, there's one in Hilcrest and one downtown, go to the one downtown. The name explains it all-- it's fantastic!!
Enjoy!!! There are so many amazing places to eat in San Diego-- spend the money, you're on vacation and it's worth it!

You have to go to the Catamaran Resort for brunch. Amazing to say the least. Enjoy you food and bottomless champagne while sitting outside (if you wish) enjoying the view of the bay.

If you're into chiken pot pies, the Chicken Pot Pie Shop, in El Cajon, is a must. And for great burgers, check out Hodad's in Ocean Beach.
