Why do jehovah's witnesses teach that men are above women? Why does the religion claim unconditional love, when if you sin you are ex-communicated? How does that signify unconditional love?

Actually, your question should be why does the Bible teach that men are above women? If the Bible teaches unconditional love, why did the Apostle Paul teach to keep the congregation clean and above reproach? Does that mean that he didn't believe in unconditional love? Or, does it mean there is a limit when someone refuses to put immoral behavior behind them? You love the sinner, but you remind them that God's house is the symbol of cleanliness.

I have studied the Watchtower religion in depth for several years, and even was on the verge of joining them at one time. At no time have I ever seen, read or heard anything that indicated that men are above women. In the Church, or in the Kingdom Hall, the Bible is followed and there it puts men in the positions of leadership, a leadership that is to be modeled after Christ and how He loves the Church.

They also excommunicate you for unrepentant sins, which too is Biblical, but they go beyond the teaching of the Bible with their unloving practice of shunning.

Also P.June is incorrect, agape love is in fact unconditional love. A simple study of the word will prove this.

Jws don't teach that men are above women. The BIBLE teaches the headship arrangement which is that Man is head of woman, Christ is head of man, God is head of Christ.

JWs do not teach "unconditional love" either. The BIBLE love is love based on principle (agape') - which is not unconditional.

Ex-communication, disfellowshipping (etc) is also a Bible teaching. Those who sin unrepentantly are to be removed from the flock.

You are mistaken. I disagree w/ Jehovah's Witnesses (JWs) on some point. But, you really do not know them.

The Bible says that the head of a woman is man; That wives should be in subjection to their husband. (1Corin 11:3, Eph 5:22, etc) This is biblical and this is what JWs teach. However, this does not mean that women are to be slaves of men. On the contrary they are to be treated as complements of men. Co-heirs in God's kingdom.

JW never claimed unconditional love to be saved. The Bible does not contain John 3:16 only. It is quite a thick book containing God's requirement for salvation. It also urges everyone to remain in Christ, otherwise they will be cast out. ( John 15:1-6) It urges everyone to work hard for their salvation. ( Phil 2:12)

Ex-communication ( or disfellowshiping to JWs) is also Biblical. Read 1Corin 5:11.

You should admire JWs instead of ridiculing them. Their teachings--although not w/o error--are based solely on the Bible. Because of this, theirs (teaching as a whole) is far more superior than Christendoom.

Of course, just like Christ the world hates them. As true Christians are called sect; as Jesus was called a devil, JWs expect that they will be called worst name. Jesus himself said that a slave is not greater than his master. ( John 15:18)

If you are really interested in knowing the Bible more accurately ( say 90% ) then study it w/ JW. You will be amazed at how ignorant many of us are with regards to WHAT THE BIBLE REALLY TEACHES.

Agape is not unconditional.

Notice John 3:16

16"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

Life is based on accepting God's provisions and having faith.
