If you just want to remove a motorcycle tube, all you have to do is get 1 side of the tire off the rim, then you can reach inside and remove the tube. thats much quicker. Then you can feel around inside the tire for nails or what ever. then you replace the tube, inside tire and remount the tire.

"redd headd" is correct. You need only take one side of the tire off. The process is done using a set of tire irons available from your local motorcycle shop if you'd like to do it yourself. After breaking the bead on both sides... simply pry one bead over the outside edge of the rim and you'll be able to reach in and retrieve the tube just like "redd" says. be certain to feel for objects protruding into the tire like "redd" says too. re-mounting the tire is done with the same tools being careful not to pinch the tube.

check your owners manual, or you can take it to any tire repair shop and they should be able to remove the tire and tube from the rim for less than 10 bucks. if you have the parts they will probably remove, and replace for the same price. but call and check.
