I don't have one.
You complain that people don't answer them
then you complain that people are rude, probably because they do answer them!
Those who don't answer them are probably being polite, because they are with someone. they can always call back
The cell phone should be our servant, not our master.

my mom's cousin doesn't have one either
I don't think people think it gives them the right to be rude they are just so distracted and caught up in their phone call that they dont think about their surroundings and the fact that they are being rude.
and people don't answer them because certain callers think that when one does not answer ones cell phone it gives them the ok to call back incessantly until it is picked up. sometimes people just dont want to talk even if they do have thier phone with them, or they are busy, at work, at the grocery store, left the phone in the car while running in somwhere, at home and dont want to answer the phone, talking to someone in person, talking to someone else on the phone etc etc there are tons of reasons why someone wouldnt answer the phone

I don't have one either and yes people feel that they have a right to answer their phone at any time regardless of where they are, who is there, etc. I think cell phones are not a bad thing for polite reasonable people. But those obnoxious oblivious people should never get one.

My boss doesn't have one.

I don't have a home phone. I like the fact that I can be reached wherever. I travel alot, and my mother lives alone and is getting older, and I like the fact that she can get me if she needs to-whether I'm out of town or wherever.

I don't know about your other questions...but I can't stand people who exhibit poor manners, regardless of whether it's cell-phone related or whatever.

My husband HATES cell phones. The only time he will use one is when I am pregnant (High-risk). I was so pissed at him. The day I went into labor with our son he forgot his cell phone at home (I was only 29 weeks along). Luckily I caught him as he was heading out the door of his job. I work in fast food (Mickey's) and it is really irritating when someone is on their cell phone when they come into the drive-thru and they are talking on their cell phone and you are trying to get their order and they get mad at us for talking to them and they are holding up the line because they have to finish their conversation...WAIT TO GO INTO THE DRIVE-THRU!

I don't have a cell phone and I don't want one, either. I don't even like talking on our our landline. Why would I want to carry around a phone with me?!

*wave hands* Another one without a cell phone. I see them as a pretentious affectation that says I am so important I have to be at everyone else's bidding.

I have a cell phone for emergencys only and it stays in my vehicle. IMO they need to ban the damn things in public settings. If I owned a restaurant, I would have a sign similar to the no shirt, no service.......except it would say.....Service to those only with manners enough to turn their DAMN CELL PHONE OFF!!! Thank you.

No, my son and his wife don't have one, because they don't want to be reached that easy, and, if they had a cell phone and didn't answer it, then would have to tell lies as to why they didn't answer.

Somehow we all survived pre-cell phone days. So many people use their cell in public so they don't have to deal with society. Its a crutch and they are weak and insecure.
