Casting "spells", praying to crystals, having sex with trees... are they nuts or something?

I think the reason that Wiccany types take all that crystal bull and spell rubbish seriously is that they're half-baked, and that's BEFORE they start taking any drugs.

Basically, yes they are nuts. The good thing is that it's often a temporary insanity cured by a dose of the real world.

Everyone is allowed to have a faith and a belief system. They have the right to believe in what they want to believe in (AS LONG AS they DO NOT force IT DOWN OUR THROATS)
Wiccans are very nice people. Perhaps you should read about the subject before making such childish comments.

Wicca is a Neopagan religion and a religious movement found in various countries throughout the world. It was first popularised in 1954 by a British civil servant named Gerald Gardner after the British Witchcraft Act was repealed. He claimed that the religion, of which he was an initiate, was a modern survival of an old witchcraft religion, which had existed in secret for hundreds of years, originating in the pre-Christian Paganism of Europe. Wicca is thus sometimes referred to as the Old Religion. The veracity of Gardner's claims cannot be independently proven, and it is thought that written Wiccan theology began to be compiled no earlier than the 1920s.Various related Wiccan traditions have since evolved or been adapted from the form established by Gardner, which came to be called Gardnerian Wicca. These other traditions of Wicca each have distinctive beliefs, rituals, and practices. Many traditions of Wicca remain secretive and require that members be initiated. There is also a movement of Eclectic Wiccans who do not believe that any doctrine or traditional initiation is necessary in order to practice Wicca. The 2001 American Religious Identification Survey estimated that at least 134,000 adults identified themselves as Wiccans in the US.

Magick is very real. Spells do work to cause the changes you want to see.

It all depends on the focus on the magician. Crystals are used for energy and focus not for praying to! Having sex with trees? Now that is a new one. Never heard of that.
Having sex with nuts???? Couldn't you lose one up the woo hoo? Well if you're into that sort of thing ok.

We don't have sex with trees. We don't pray to crystals. Casting spells is a way to motivate our minds. You have to look at it in a cerebral way. When performing a spell for say a job you are really just programming your mind to become motivated and confident in your job search. It's a way to empower yourself. You have 3 levels of consciousness and spells use rhythm, rhyming, and symbols to communicate to the other levels of your mind because they function differently then your awake conscious. Do your homework.

Dude I'm not sure. It's almost as crazy as those weirdos who think that if they do all good things they'll go to a good place and if they do bad things they'll go to a bad place and be tortured forever. I like fairy tales as much as the next guy, but I don't base my life on them! I mean, those people think that some guy that was the son of a GOD got nailed to the cross by some roman soldiers just to prove a point. They sit there and quote the same book over and over again even though the book has been translated and re-translated over and over again.

Study what they really believe in and do before making unkind remarks, and name-calling based on ignorance. I'm sure you'll find relief in altruism and compassion as well as education.

addition: oh before I dash off for a workout I almost forgot to mention, Wicca and certain pagan religions have far more logic to them than most monotheistic religions that worship an omnipotent creator deity IMO, so study before you comment.

They embrace trees, they think the earth is a living entity, the
big issue is they do not believe in God but a Pantheon of gods and goddesses.

I'm a Christian, and I take Wicca seriously. Not only do I have many Wiccan friends, but I take it seriously simply because it's somebody else's belief system, and I respect the beliefs of others. Its followers are serious about their devotion to the gods/goddesses. Also, they have much to tell us about respecting nature. To belittle the religious beliefs of others is very petty.

Er.

Troll, Wiccans don't pray to crystals. And they don't have sex with trees.

Casting spells is a way of focusing energy, just as praying is a way of focusing energy.

You're a sad little person, aren't you?
