There is a lot that goes into making a good pizza. To start, it all depends on how you are going to cook it. If using an oven, I think it's worth it to buy a pizza stone. It makes the pizza crunchy and authentic tasting. Also, get the oven good and hot, at least 425 F. Sprinkle some corn meal lightly on the surface of the stone and whatever you build the pizza on, so it doesn't stick. Not too much, or it will add a yucky flavor to the bottom of the pizza. Then comes the ingredients. You'll need to use a really good dough and sauce, because that's the important base. Keep in mind, most local pizza shops will sell you their dough per pound if you ask. So, if you have a favorite, why not grab some. If not, the supermarket has a lot in the freezer section. Same goes for sauce. If you can't go for homemade, try a local shop, or worst case- a jar that you know you like. Then add whatever ingredients you like. With all toppings, sauce included, make sure you go lightly, or the pizza will remain soft in the middle and be harder to work with. Cook for about 10 minutes until golden brown. Yum! Be creative with toppings when you make a pizza at home. Possibilities are endless!

The most important thing is to buy a pizza stone. This will give your pizza that wonderful crisp crust that no other way of cooking does.
Buy ready made pizza dough, roll it out to the size you want, spread it with Ragu pizza sauce (the most delicious one), and grated mozzarella cheese and add all the toppings you want.
When it's done, take it out of the oven and add more grated mozzarella on top. Place it back in the oven just long enough to melt.

Buy a good pizza cookbook, choose the one you want, and follow the directions... or copy recipes for free from books in B. Dalton while you drink Starbucks vanilla latte at their little tables, make a new friend, invite them home to dinner and on the way buy your supplies and a bottle of wine! Then be sure to have fun tossing the dough and playing with it with your hands, get all full of flour, laugh a lot, grate the cheese, drink a lot and have a good time... that pizza will be perfect!

3 1/2 cups unbleached, all-purpose flour
2 packages dry active yeast
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1 1/2 cups lukewarm water from the tap
1/2 teaspoon olive oil
Flour, for the work surface
Cornmeal, to dust
In a mixing bowl fitted with a dough hook, place flour, yeast, salt and sugar. While mixer is running, gradually add water and knead on low speed until dough is firm and smooth, about 10 minutes.
Turn machine off. Pour oil down inside of bowl. Turn on low once more for 15 seconds to coat inside of bowl and all surfaces of dough with the oil. Cover bowl with plastic wrap. Let dough rise in warm spot until doubled in bulk, about 2 hours.
Preheat oven to 500 degrees F.
If using a pizza stone, place stone in oven on bottom rack, preheat oven 1 hour ahead. Punch dough down, cut in half. Place half of the dough on generously floured work surface. By hand, form dough loosely into a ball and stretch into a circle. Using a floured rolling pin, roll dough into large circle until very thin. Don't worry if your circle isn't perfect and if you get a hole just pinch the edges back together.
To prevent dough from sticking to counter, turn over the dough and sprinkle with flour. Also, flour the counter top and rolling pin as needed. Sprinkle pizza peel or cookie sheet generously with cornmeal. Transfer dough to pizza peel or cookie sheet with no lip. Add toppings.
For White Pizza, brush dough with a good olive oil, then place scoops of Ricatta cheese with fresh crushed garlic mixed in on random spots around pizza, then top with a generous helping of Mozzarella cheeze. The best!
For regular pizza, just use your favorite marinara sauce and mix in some fresh Basil, top with lots of Mozzarella cheeze and fresh tasty toppings.
Cook 10 to 12 minutes and you have one tasty pizza

Chef Boyardee has a good box kit for the basics, crust, sauce and cheese. you can buy any other toppings you want. I don't like the cheese included, so I add grated cheese. if you add sausage, cook it first before putting it on the pizza plus baking it on the pizza.

Pour the warm water in a large mixing bowl. Add the sugar and stir until dissolved.
Add the yeast and gently stir the mixture until the yeast is dissolved.
Let the mixture sit for 10 minutes to allow the yeast to become "active."
The mixture will become foamy at the surface and appear cloudy, and, it will begin to release its familiar, "yeasty" aroma.v Add the salt and olive oil and stir again to combine the ingredients.
Add 1 cup of flour to the mixture and whisk in until dissolved.
Add the second cup of flour and whisk it in until the mixture is smooth.
Add the 3rd cup of flour and combine evenly. The dough mixture should now be fairly thick.
Add the last cup and flour and, with your hands, begin to combine the dough until all of the dry flour has moistened into a mass.
