It has always struck me strange that my husband was with petite, small framed, short women his entire life until he met me. He's a large, tall guy, 6'4 and 240. It's great now that we're married and have kids, but it always makes me wonder in the back of my mind why he preferred that type for so many years and then dated and married me, a tall woman. Any thoughts on this? Does anyone out there think we all have "types" but maybe don't admit it? I always wonder if he'd rather be with a tiny woman like he was before even though we have a great life.

Oh we all have types. However what we want and what we need is two different things. Because all ex's are a ex for a reason, we didn't really need that type in out lives yet we keep making that mistake until the one day that perfect fit for us walks in to our lives, and 99% of the time they are so not what we wanted or thought we did but it's what is meant for us some one to compliment us perfectly even if most people don't see it.

I don't think men have "types" as far as a partner, i mean your married and have kids and your living a wonderful life with him now. I know i certainly have a type that i go for, Short hair, Tattoo's kind of a medium frame but defiantly not flabby or large, Taller but not too tall anywhere from 5'4" to 5'7" is good for me but then again, if you have long hair in that kind of "Bettie Page" hairstyle, i love that too, and if your skinny and short, hey i don't mind, so like i said i have a particular STYLE that i look for but not a particular TYPE.

Nah...he probably realised that going out with petite women wasn't working out and thats why he got with you...and it sounds like you guys are happy. I wouldnt worry about it:) Yeah I think we all have types...although when you decide to try a different 'type' from your preferred one it works out even better.

i think you made him realize there's more to girls than appearance. you changed his view on things and he sees you for who you really are. i don't think he would want anybody else in the world- he loves you. if he wasn't totally happy with you, he never would have married you!

i thought i knew what sort of lady i was after then i met my love and she is NOTHING that i thought i wanted --- so your husband thought he wanted petite until he met you then found you were everything to him ---- best wishes
