What Tired said it's right for the derivation from 'Pater', but Pàrri is a very famous Tuscan last name (Tuscany region)that derives from the apheresis (reduction) of the dialectal form 'Gaspàrri', then derived from the name 'Gàspare' or 'Gaspàrre' (Caspar, Casper, Jasper), so 'Parri' means 'belonging to the Gàspare's family. In its turn 'Gaspare' derives from ancient Persian 'Gathàspar', quietly meaning 'lightning': Ciao.
Italiano D.O.C.
