No one can tell you that except you.
First, side effects are actually potential side effects. So, any given person may experience some of them, all of them or none of them.
Further, there is a difference between side effects and your body getting used to a particular med. IF it's just a matter of getting used to something, it will be just a few days. But if you do experience a particular side effect, it's likely to last.
The fact is, though, that everything has potential side effects, and I'm not limiting this to meds. The thing is to determine for yourself whether or not any given side effect, as YOU experience it, is something that you can live with or not. If you can live with it, just do so. If you can't, talk to your doctor.

it depends on the medication - some medications have side effects that are only short term and thus wear off after a few days or weeks! However some medications continue throughout the course of treatment. Not only that but some medicatications have many side effects wereby some of the side effects will wear off after sometime but others remain!!
If you want information about side effects with regards to specific drugs then please be a bit more specific as to which drug you are referring to. You also have to remember that some medications will result in side effects in some people but others will not get any side effects.

I thought that the side effects were accumulative in that the longer you took your drugs there would be an escalation of the side effects, as your liver has to work harder and harder to get rid of the toxins created by your drugs. When your liver is in overload then the toxins start to invade other areas of your body!

I think they stay with you, I've been on the pill for almost two years and I still get the headaches. It probably depends on the tablet though.

Tried Zyban to give up smoking. The list of side effects is kilometric and they don't go away. I'm still smoking.

Since you gave almost no helpful information, it is difficult to answer. Some side effects can be very harmful from some drugs. Please be more specific.
